چکیده

Deodorization of vegetable oils may introduce potentially carcinogenic, as well genotoxic contaminants, generating health risks for consumers. However, the deodorization step refining process leads to formation 3-monochloro-1,2-propanediol (3-MCPD). 3-MCPD has been classified carcinogenic humans by World Health Organization (WHO). The purpose this study was optimize recently updated oil treatment techniques using Instant Controlled Pressure Drop (DIC) improve elimination in edible palm oil. Based on central composite (CCD-DoE), response surface methodology (RSM) developed find best combination two variables at five levels remove from Samples were split into groups. first group treated only traditional method, including refining, degumming, deacidification, decolorization, deodorization, dehydration, filtration, and dewaxing processes. second followed DIC technique during different periods various temperatures pressures. In experiment, effect removal examined varying inlet pressure reaction time 200 325 kPa 8.66 26.34 s/cycle, respectively. 3D graphs showed that optimum reduction occurs with a 26.34s value 413 kPa. analyzed GC-MS/MS method determine concentrations. It found technology reduces contamination when used after process.

Isolation of Indonesian Cananga Oil by Instantaneous Controlled Pressure Drop

The isolation of cananga oil by a new process, Instantaneous Controlled Pressure Drop (DIC), was investigated. This process consists in heating the dry cananga (Cananga odorata Hook. fil. et Thomson, forma macrophylla) flowers for a short time period by steam, followed by an abrupt pressure drop into a vacuum (about 5 kPa). This pressure drop provokes auto-vaporization of the volatile compounds...

Influence of Particle Size and Pressure Drop in Cake Filtration Process on Removal of Suspended Solids in Anaerobically Digested Palm Oil Mill Effluent

Palm oil mill effluent (POME) poses a great threat to the environment. However, it contains valuable resources such as energy, water and nutrients that could be recovered for sustainable development. Currently, anaerobic digester has been employed to recover the energy potential in POME. However, the presence of suspended solids in the digestate hinders the downstream nutrients recovery process...

Development of an analytical method for 3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol in soy sauce using 4-heptanone as derivatizing agent.

3-Monochloro-1,2-propane diol is a suspected carcinogen found in hydrolysed vegetable protein products such as soy sauce. A method is described for the analysis of 3-monochloro-1,2-propane diol in soy sauce by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry at a concentration range of 1-5000 ng g-1 using 4-heptanone as the derivatizing ketone and 3-monochloro-1,2-propane diol-d5 as the internal standard. ...

Application of Honey to Reduce Oxidation in Soybean Oil

Background: The oxidation of unsaturated lipids by free radicals is one of the main causes of food deterioration. The major purpose of the present study was to determine effectiveness of application of honey in order to reduce oxidation in soybean oil. Methods: Six groups were designed, including control (soybean oil emulsion without preservative), positive control (butylated hydroxyl toluene ...

The effect of micro/nano-particles on pressure drop in Oil pipeline: Simulation

A high pressure drop happens when heavy oil with high viscosity moves through the oil pipeline. A variety of methods to avoid this pressure drop is available. One of which is injection of chemicals to reduce the viscosity and ultimately reduce pressure drop. Using the pipesim software, the effect of dispersion of nano and micro-particles into the oil has been simulated to study the amount of th...
